Chad Greenway’s journey embodies the values of hard work, resilience, and community spirit. Born and raised on a hog, cattle, and crop farm in Mt. Vernon, SD, Chad learned the importance of dedication and perseverance from an early age. Growing up in a tight-knit rural community, he quickly assumed leadership roles both on the family farm and within the local community.

His path led him to the University of Iowa on a football scholarship, where he shone brightly as a standout player. Named 3-time All Big Ten and a 2-time All American, Chad’s leadership was recognized by his peers, earning him a place on the leadership council throughout his college years. Graduating with a degree in Communication Studies in 2005, Chad’s journey was only just beginning.

Selected #17 overall in the 2006 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, Chad embarked on an illustrious 11-season career, all with the Vikings. As a key player, he earned numerous accolades, including All-Pro and Pro-Bowl selections, and served as a respected team captain. Off the field, Chad’s commitment to making a difference was evident, as he was honored multiple times for his charitable contributions, including winning the NFLPA’s prestigious Byron “Whizzer” White award.

Since retiring from the NFL in 2017, Chad has continued his impactful work in the Twin Cities community. As President of his family’s Lead the Foundation, established in 2010, he remains dedicated to supporting families and children across the upper Midwest. Additionally, Chad has embraced new ventures as a Partner with Gray Duck Spirits and Bankshot Solutions, furthering his commitment to innovation and community engagement.

At home in Wayzata, MN, Chad finds joy in family life with his wife Jennifer and four daughters. Actively involved in coaching, training, and guiding his girls, Chad exemplifies the values of leadership and service both on and off the field.

Hunt Greatness

Great leaders emerge in many ways—through a supportive upbringing, influential mentors, or hard-earned opportunities. But what sets exceptional leaders apart is their relentless pursuit of improvement—not just for themselves, but for their entire team.

To truly hunt greatness, a leader must develop a Winning Pedigree—a foundation built on character, consistency, grit, and self-awareness. While individuals strive for greatness through these qualities, elite teams require even more. A winning team thrives on camaraderie, accountability, and selflessness, continually seeking new ways to strengthen its culture and performance.

Join Chad Greenway as he shares powerful lessons from his 11-year NFL career, illustrating how these principles shape leaders and teams alike. Discover how to elevate your team’s culture, inspire individuals, and empower your group to HUNT their own GREATNESS—pushing your team to the next level.

From the Ground Up

Speaking on experience of an emerging leader. I went through many leadership changes in my career and three times over have gone from the bottom to the top. I walk through the process of following before leading and the values of a leader. Being a Captain of an NFL team comes with many challenges but a well-rounded valued leader shines through.

Getting off the Ground

When it comes to a football career only the strong survive. I have gone through many mental and physical challenges where my resiliency was tested. Finding motivation and drive from obstacles is a driving for to success. You must always find a way to pick yourself up over and over to define what your character really says about you.

Teamwork

Growing up on a family farm I quickly learned the value of teamwork. I used those experiences on the football field to build bonds with different teammates to help produce a winning culture. I speak on building relationships to build trust and continuity for your team. Understanding that max production comes from a culture of success.
