Nina Meehan is a doctoral candidate with connection at the heartbeat of all of her work. She assists organizations and teams with her LIFT framework for building the collective energy that transforms how teams think, connect, and perform. As a speaker, coach, and organizational catalyst, she helps leaders and organizations unlock the conditions where people do their most creative, courageous work together.

As the founder and CEO of an award-winning, multi-million-dollar entertainment company, Nina spent decades engineering collective experience at scale; creating immersive moments for over a million people worldwide. That rare blend of artistic mastery and executive leadership gave her an insider’s understanding of what it actually takes to ignite a room, align a team, or shift a culture.

A recognized director, playwright, and producer, Nina has brought transformative stories to life on the world’s most respected stages including a trailblazing musical based on a book by Chelsea Clinton, adaptations of multiple New York Times Bestsellers, and collaborations with Tony Award-winning companies and EGOT-winning artists.

Beyond the stage, she works with CEOs, venture capitalists, tech innovators, and educators to activate the same energy in their organizations. Whether she’s coaching a founder to secure millions in funding, guiding a leadership team through strategic storytelling, or helping an organization build a culture of genuine connection, her approach is dynamic, creative, and built for results.

A two-time TEDx speaker, Nina has taken the stage at Chicago Women in Tech, Wonder Women in Tech, the Conscious Leadership Group, EO, the University of Utah, and Northwestern University, and has spoken internationally across Australia, Italy, Canada, China, and Korea. Her insights have been featured in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and on ABC, NBC, and CBS News.

Nina holds a B.S. in Theatre from Northwestern University, a Master’s in Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Collective Effervescence. When she’s not on stage or in the room, she’s hiking in the mountains, doing stand-up paddleboard yoga, or cross-country skiing with her three kids.

Collective Connection: The Science of Energized Teams and Collaboration

You’ve felt it before. A room that comes alive. A team that stops grinding and starts soaring. A moment when everyone in the space seems to exhale at the same time… and something shifts. You’ve felt it, chased it, and tried to recreate it. But you’ve probably never known its name.

It’s called collective effervescence. Which is the measurable phenomenon that explains why some gatherings transform people and others simply end. Most leaders know when it’s happened. Almost none know how to make it happen on purpose.

Nina Meehan does.

As a doctoral candidate, award-winning director, and TEDx speaker with two decades of engineering collective experience at scale, Nina has spent her career studying — and manufacturing — the conditions that make people feel something together. In this keynote, she names the phenomenon, grounds it in science, and then gives every leader in the room a practical framework to create it intentionally: in their teams, in their meetings, and in the culture they’re building every day.

Because here’s the truth most organizations are missing: every human being with responsibility for other people is, whether they know it or not, an experience designer. The only question is whether they’re designing on purpose.

Through her framework, Nina gives you five intentional conditions that move any group from disconnection to shared momentum. This isn’t soft science. It’s the competitive advantage your culture has been missing.

Audiences Will Walk Away With:

  • A name for what they’ve been chasing. Attendees leave with language for the phenomenon they’ve experienced but never been able to articulate and that naming alone shifts how they lead.
  • The four conditions that create connection on demand. A working understanding of the LIFT framework and the specific behaviors that activate each stage.
  • A reframe of their role. Every leader walks out understanding themselves as an experience designer and accepting the responsibility that comes with that identity.
  • Practical tools for any room, any scale. Concrete techniques to shift the energy of a meeting, a team offsite, or an entire organizational culture, applicable immediately, not theoretically.
  • The science behind why human connection drives business outcomes. A grounded, research-backed case for investing in collective energy as a retention, productivity, and culture strategy — not a “nice to have.”
