Rebecca knows fear.

As an evolutionary biologist and stress expert, Dr. Rebecca Heiss is dedicated to helping us become self-aware and overcome our instinctual limitations – the ancient, often subconscious fears that hold us back from our optimal performance and our happiest lives. Her research has been designated “transformative” by the National Science Foundation and it is waking up audiences around the world.

As an author of the newly acclaimed book Instinctfounder and CEO of the leadership 360-review mobile application, icueity, and highly sought-after professional speaker, Rebecca has found her calling in helping others recognize the power of biological applications in their lives. A former educator, Dr. Heiss spent much of her earlier career in the classroom at both the high school and college levels and was recruited to be a founding member of an innovative charter school with a focus on entrepreneurial thinking and impact-based learning.

Today she shares her work from stages around the world as a full-time speaker and facilitator of her Fearless Accelerator program and Year of Happy – an experience that delivers programming and physical subscription boxes with challenges and community to move otherwise successful people from a state of languishing in “meh” to finally finding HAPPY.

Rebecca’s “fearless” message inspires hope and actionable insights to train our brains to work for us, rather than against us in times of uncertainty

With surprising humor and palpable energy, no matter if Dr. Heiss is delivering virtually or on stage, she wins over her udiences with interactiveinspiring, and timely takeaways.

Rebecca lives in South Carolina with her spoiled rotten dogs named Guinness & Murphy and every day tries to live her life motto: “spread happy.”

FEAR(LESS) LEADERSHIP: LEADING WITH AWE

As leaders it’s imperative that we are self-aware. And yet research finds that nearly 90% of us…aren’t. We have to find new ways of understanding our fears, our strengths, our shortcomings, and all of the ways that our brains keep sabotaging us from being the most effective leaders we can be. That’s where Rebecca comes in by providing immediately applicable strategies to intervene with our self-limiting instincts.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Use evolutionary psychology to increase self-awareness and reshape behavioral patterns toward a more successful outcome
  • Recognize how reliance on the subconscious can lead to ineffective and/or unethical decision making
  • Understand and overcome the evolution of potentially harmful human behaviors.
  • Break through barriers to optimal performance.
  • Drive your company to be more profitable and productive.

FEAR(LESS) DIVERSITY: CELEBRATIONS & CRITICAL CONVERSATIONS

No blame. No finger pointing. No guilt.  Fear(less) diversity is all about understanding the instincts that drive us to carry bias.  No matter our background, we all carry some shortcuts and biases about others (and ourselves!). It doesn’t make us bad people – it makes us human! But when we understand the instincts that drive these stories, we can be more effective in intervening before they negatively affect our relationships and performance.

  • Learn how to neutralize fears that lead to ineffective decision-making.
  • Maximize  ability to lead powerfully, regardless of cultural labels
  • Recognize and neutralize implicit bias on a personal and organizational scale
  • Learn scientific techniques to maximize their potential as effective leaders to all
  • Engage with comfort in the language to talk about what is often a highly difficult conversation.

FEAR(LESS) MINDSET: FINDING ADVENTURE IN AMBIGUITY

Our brains believe the stories we tell them. Without conscious effort, they are negativity seeking missiles, but we have the power to change that. Science demonstrates that more positive people enjoy better relationships, higher quality of life, improved health and longevity, and they far outperform less optimistic peers at work with increased sales, promotions, and engagement. Optimism is a lucrative investment for every organization. Rewire your brain to optimize the power of positivity!
