Here is another good Torch Tip from James Lloyd’s book.
Torch Tip #23
Don’t complain.
“There are persons who always find a hair in their plate of soup for the simple reason that, when they sit down before it, they shake their heads until one falls in.”
—Friedrich Hebbel
No one likes a whiner. And there’s just no reason for it.
We’ve all been there. You’re out eating with friends, and you hear:
“Oh, this place is always crowded.”
“I hate waiting in line.”
“I told you we should’ve gone somewhere else.”
“Oh great, we get this table. I bet it’ll be noisy.”
It continues:
“This silverware is dirty.”
“The last time I had the steak it was too well done.”
“Do you feel a draft in here?”
On and on it goes. And bite by bite, your food loses its taste.
If you just recognized yourself, it’s time to repent…or eat alone.
No one likes a complainer.
“Don’t complain. The wheel that squeaks the loudest often gets replaced.”
