In the video below, speaker and author Terry Rich, the “idea dude” gives his gift of how to generate new ideas in your organization.

Here’s three directives in an email subject lines that allow employees to be more innovative:
1. Action required- it needs action and is important
2. Fyi- “For your information” which suggests reading it at your leisure
3. COT- Short for “Consider or Throw Away” which says “Hey, it’s just and idea. No response wanted. If you’re busy, delete this email.”

As you watch, guess what percentage of times, as a CEO, Terry used each of these notes to create an positive innovative environment.
